Na obszarze gminy Siedlce (pow. 141,54 km kw.) w tegorocznym sezonie lęgowym (2011) było dostępnych dla pustułek 36 budek, w tym 12 na słupach linii energetycznych i 24 na drzewach. Z puli dostępnych budek jakie wisiały w roku 2010 ubyła jedna budka zamontowana na drzewie.

W okresie poprzedzającym sezon lęgowy (jesienią i wczesną wiosną) wykonano różne prace interwencyjne w odniesieniu do 19 budek, w tym: wymieniono 4 budki w złym stanie technicznym na nowe na drzewach i 4 budki na słupach energetycznych; dowieszono dwie nowe budki w miejsca, gdzie były w latach poprzednich, ale zniknęły; naprawiono i przewieszono dwie skrzynki w bardziej atrakcyjne miejsca; wyczyszczono trzy budki zamocowane na słupach energetycznych. Przy 12 skrzynkach na drzewach (w tym tych wymienionych i przewieszonych) obcięto gałęzie utrudniające ptakom dolot. W ww. pracach uczestniczyli: Marcin Stępień, Przemysław Obłoza, Przemysław Kurdej, Mirosław Rzępała i siedleccy energetycy.

Pustułki przystąpiły do lęgu w 11 budach. Z tej liczby 5 było zawieszonych na drzewach, zaś 6 na słupach linii energetycznych.
Ustalono dokładnie wielkość lęgu w 5 skrzynkach zamocowanych na słupach energetycznych. Wynosiła ona odpowiednio: 7, 4, 5, 6 i 6 jaj. W budce z 5 jajami odnotowano powtórny lęg, który zakończył się stratą.

Niestety, nie jest znana dokładna ilość młodych, które szczęśliwie opuściły każdą z zasiedlonych budek. W czterech budkach ustalono, że był sukces, ale nie znana jest dokładna liczba młodych; w jednej z nich odnotowano odchody potwierdzające bytowanie młodych pustułek; w dwóch budkach odnotowano młode zdolne do wylotu, jednak nie można było dokładnie ustalić ich liczby (obserwacje z dystansu, słyszane jedynie odgłosy młodych); w jednej budce na słupie widziano trzy młode, ale ich liczba jest prawdopodobnie zaniżona (lęg składał się z 7 jaj). W 5 kolejnych budkach udało się określić dokładną liczbę młodych zdolnych do wylotu. Wynosiła ona odpowiednio: 4 (w budce, gdzie były 4 jaja), 4, 5 (w budce, gdzie było 6 jaj), 5 i 3.
Zaobrączkowano 7 młodych pustułek pochodzących z dwóch gniazd (z budki na drzewie w dolinie Muchawki oraz z budki na słupie w dolinie Helenki).

Pustułki najwcześniej opuściły budkę ok. 28.06 (lęg w budce na drzewie), zaś najpóźniej ok. 22.07 (lęg w budce na słupie).
Podsumowując, w bieżącym roku na 36 dostępnych budek zamontowanych na obszarze gminy Siedlce, pustułki przystąpiły do lęgu w 11 (30,6%). Średnia liczba jaj w zniesieniu określona dla 5 lęgów na słupach energetycznych wyniosła 5,6. Na podstawie zebranych informacji można przyjąć, że zasiedlone budki szczęśliwie opuściło około 44 młode. Ponadto kilka skrzynek było odwiedzanych przez pustułki, jednak nie odnotowano tam żadnych lęgów.

W kontrolach skrzynek uczestniczyli: Tomasz Grabowski, Wiesław Kalicki, Tomasz Przesmycki, Mirosław Rzępała, Magdalena Sołoniewicz i niżej podpisany.
